The 8th General Assembly of TÜRKÜNİB has begun in Tashkent!
Author: Ibrokhim Date: 15 Oct. 2025 Category: NewsAs is known, during the summit of the Organization of Turkic States, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed the initiative to hold the “Days of Turkic Science and Innovation” during Uzbekistan’s chairmanship of the Union of Turkic Universities (TÜRKÜNİB) for 2025–2026 (source).
Today, this initiative is being implemented in practice: the 8th General Assembly of TÜRKÜNİB has started its work at Tashkent International University.
The event was opened by Hilola Umarova, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Education Reform; Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation; Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States; Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Academy; and Iskandar Yo‘ldoshev, Rector of Tashkent International University.
The assembly is attended by representatives from about 70 universities from member countries of the organization, including around 200 rectors and scholars.
Within the framework of the event, the “Days of Turkic Science and Innovation” initiative is being discussed, and an exhibition of Uzbek universities has been organized.
